Tonight I’m so grateful for my Mother’s of Influence group. We get together monthly and talk about educating the heart before the mind. Our mother heart first and then our children’s hearts. We do this through the arts: music, poetry, literature, and art. The world is so focused on educating the mind and that’s important. But if we educate the heart through the arts and traditions, then we’ll want to fill our minds with goodness and a good education.
I always leave these meetings feeling uplifted and spiritually fed. I’m refreshed and excited to enrich my kids' lives through all the best things. The gospel is always number one, but the arts are another way to help keep the spirit in our daily lives. I am amazed at the truths I can find in all of these areas.
