The ride home wasn't as fun. As we were just about through North Salt Lake (Kayesville) and WE HIT A DEER! It was only five thirty and we can't figure out how that deer even got on the freeway. The huge sound barrier walls were still on the sides of the freeway. There was no avoiding it but, Bo did a great job staying calm and keeping us safe. We were very grateful that nobody got hurt and we were still able to drive home.
Driving home the image kept playing through my mind. I kept thinking about all of the other scenarios that could have played out. We were on 1-15 going 70 mph! Yes, it is a real bummer to have to fix the car. But since there was no avoiding it, there was no better scenarios. We were all safe and we made it home only a half hour later than expected. We also got to have a good teaching moment about prayer. :)
Conrad had a funny reaction. After it was all said and done and we were driving again he said, "That was so COOOOOL"! I asked him what he thought happened to the deer and he said, "I think he got a bump on his foot........I think he'll have to go to the animal Dr............that's really a person............I think his foot still hurts." Kids are so cute.
My little plug for our van: I know van's are not the coolest cars ever, but I love having one. They are so nice to have with all the kids. They can get in and out so easy. I have to say that it held up fairly well. But, I guess we'll see when we take it in to be checked out :)

Seriously, that sucks but it could've been a lot worse so I guess if you're going to hit a deer it's not that bad!! Hope it isn't too expensive when you get it fixed. Can't wait to see you guys!
That is pretty bizarre that there was a deer on the freeway, and in such a busy area! I'm glad everyone is fine, and think Conrad's comment on the deer is cute.
WOW, I can't believe you hit a deer on the freeway outside SLC, again WOW! What are the odds. And go van, that is not much damage for a deer. I'm glad it turned out ok. I hope you are doing well, getting ready to add a fourth child and all. That deserves another WOW!
I'm glad everyone is ok.
When Robert hit a deer on the interstate, it was a lot worse. So much for not having a van. It Bent the hood and smashed one side in. Had to pull it out so he could drive the car to the dealer.
Bo is such a good driver.
that is a bummer! even though those sound walls look solid, there are gaps in them where critters and people can get through.
Conrad is a cutie! I love the stuff kids say!
Sorry about your van! Not cool!
