Last week we were in the center of three hurricanes! I really think the Lord is watching over this island. Hurricanes almost never hit here even though many pass. There have been 10 so far this season. None of these three are a threat to Hawaii but they do cause a high surf which is so awesome to watch! I have also seen the Coast Guard helicopter flying by everyday since last Wednesday. Surfers love going out in these waves. But it's super dangerous.
I knew the waves were huge and we have a rock out from our deck that I keep an eye on to see how big they actually get. But, I've always thought I wonder what it would be like to have a person out there to see how big the waves actually are. I didn't think anyone would be crazy enough to actually go in them.
But, last week we had to opportunity to watch some people out on wave runners. As we watched, I just kept thinking to myself, "please don't drown!" Here are some pictures from it they are pretty cool. But I was relieved to see them go too.

Here they are riding out |

Look for the black speck in front of the waves. They would park in front of a wave and if it was big enough they'd take off in front and ride the wave out. |

Here, one of the guys fell off the waves runner. I can't imagine being in the waves as they crashed and he was in there for a few minutes getting crashed on. |

This is one that the guy was in before he got back on the wave runner. |
