Gratitude Journal: Day 18

Church was shortened to two hours, and we started the “Come Follow Me” lessons just about two years ago. I have loved the shorter church. But I’ve loved having lessons at home even more. It’s been so helpful to have direction on what to teach. Before, it was hard to plan lessons because the spectrum was so big.

There is no right or wrong way to go through the program. I think every family does it differently. We have lessons daily before the kids leave for school, and on Fridays, we have the older kids teach us something they learned that week in seminary.

The Come Follow Me program has strengthened our family.  It has been great for me because if I don’t study, I can’t teach. It has helped the kids learn to be more confident in answering questions and think through the principles of the gospel. It brings the Spirit into our home. I cherish this time each morning and love the idea that before we send them out in the world each day, we take a few minutes to talk of God and the gospel then send them on their way. I #givethanks for this inspired program.
