Happy Number 2 Jack!

Jackson's birthday was June 18th. We had a fun day. I love birthdays. The kids get so excited and are so happy to pick out a special present for each other.
We had a couple of parties but really one with presents, so that's the one I took pics of. He loved opening his presents. And yes that is Christmas paper in the picture.
We started out the party with pizza. Jack LOVES pizza.

CHEESE!

Then we moved on to his presents.
And ended with cake and ice cream. Last year he burned himself touching the candle. This year he just cried when Bo lit the candles. Maybe next year he'll blow them out. We'll see. :)

Now a little about Jackson at 2.

He counts to three
He sings to "G" in the alphabet
He gets up and wanders the house at night so we have to put up a gate to block him in
My favorite thing he says is, (after doing something crazy) "Di u see dat?" (Did you see that?)
He is all boy and started trying to jump at 15 months. And at 18 months was jumping off the bottom step of things. He is always jumping!
He had another stay at the hospital this year with RSV. I hope it was his last.

Jack loves:
To eat (One night I caught him climbing on the kitchen counters in the pitch dark to get crackers out of the cupboard. I didn't really sleep well after that until we got the gate.)
Anything with wheels
Being outside
Riding the motorbike. He is always saying, "Ride, Daddy?"
Throwing stuff (not my favorite thing)
His brother and sister as he is always copying them

We love you Jack!!! We are so glad you are in our family. You bring such a fun spirit into our home. I can't wait to watch you grow this next year!

KIDS....

Yesterday was Bo's 10 year reunion for High School and last night we had a get together at the warehouse with some of his high school friends. As I was taking the baby sitter home I asked how the kids went to bed. I was a little nervous to hear the answer because the past few days they have been terrible at going to sleep. She said they had a little bit of a rough time. When I got home I peeked in on the boys and noticed Jack wasn't in his bed so I went in to put him in his bed. I just started laughing because all three kids were sleeping in Conrad's bed. Jackson had taken off his pants (his favorite thing, ugh) and put on Conrad's t-ball jersey with one arm through the neck. I have no idea when the kids went to bed, but I have a feeling it was a little bit harder than she put on....LOL. Well, at least they like being together.

Conrad's 4 Year Pictures

Conrad does not like getting his picture taken. At home with me he loves it but anywhere else he just gets a grumpy face on. So, this is the one and only shot we got. I think it shows his sweet personality and at least we got one. :)

We love you bud!

And the Gender is...

A boy!!!! Yes that does make three boys and a girl.  But, I am just as excited to have another boy.  I was happy to hear he is healthy as far as they can see.  That always brings a little peace to my mind. :)

It was funny because the woman doing the ultrasound put the little "thingy" on my stomach and the first thing she said was, "Oh there's the gender!"  And I thought, "Oh, there it is!" It was not hard to see.  He was not shy throughout the rest of the ultrasound either. He was hiding his profile though.  We never got a pic of that.  Oh well.

I was nervous to see how Hailey would feel when I told her the baby was a boy.  She has been wanting a new sister soooo bad.  But, she reacted pretty well.  She is disappointed, but she knew we couldn't pick what we got.  I'm sure once he comes she will just love him.

Conrad said, "Yes, a boy!" And ran a gave me a hug.  Then I took the kids out to the truck to take the babysitter home.  When we got in he asked where the baby was.  I was a little confused.  But then it clicked, he thought I was bringing the baby home from my appointment.  He thought I had just left him in the car while I came in to get them to take the sitter home.  So, they were both a little disappointed.  They are still excited though now that they've had time to let it sink in.

SERIOUSLY....A Deer in North Salt Lake?!

We had a fun weekend in Utah spending time with family and seeing one of our newest nephews blessed.  It's always fun to spend time with family.

The ride home wasn't as fun.  As we were just about through North Salt Lake (Kayesville) and WE HIT A DEER!  It was only five thirty and we can't figure out how that deer even got on the freeway.  The huge sound barrier walls were still on the sides of the freeway.  There was no avoiding it but, Bo did a great job staying calm and keeping us safe. We were very grateful that nobody got hurt and we were still able to drive home.

Driving home the image kept playing through my mind.  I kept thinking about all of the other scenarios that could have played out.  We were on 1-15 going 70 mph!  Yes, it is a real bummer to have to fix the car.  But since there was no avoiding it, there was no better scenarios.  We were all safe and we made it home only a half hour later than expected.  We also got to have a good teaching moment about prayer. :)

Conrad had a funny reaction.  After it was all said and done and we were driving again he said, "That was so COOOOOL"!  I asked him what he thought happened to the deer and he said, "I think he got a bump on his foot........I think he'll have to go to the animal Dr............that's really a person............I think his foot still hurts."  Kids are so cute.

My little plug for our van:  I know van's are not the coolest cars ever, but I love having one.  They are so nice to have with all the kids.  They can get in and out so easy.  I have to say that it held up fairly well.  But, I guess we'll see when we take it in to be checked out :)
