Rexburg Rapids

So, last week was the last full week we had before we started school again.  I tried to get as much in as I could.  Museum, Late Night, Pizza, all the fun stuff.

Friday I decided to take the three older kids out to the pool.  We went to Rexburg Rapids. They have two slides, a lazy river, a rock wall to climb, and a kiddie area.  The kids had a blast. 

We met Kendra and there were a bunch of people from our neighborhood there too.  Hailey and Conrad had friends to play with and Jack and I got to spend a lot of time together.  It was nice. Every time we got back to the beginning of of the lazy river he said, "Can we go again?!"  He just laughed and swam all afternoon.  Hailey's favorite part was the speed slide and Conrad had a blast in the river too.  It was nice to spend some time with the older kids and not have the distraction of the younger ones while we swam.

About a week ago the class lists were posted and we were able to see who the kids had for teachers.  We found out Hailey's best friend Rhya was in her class.  Then Kendra Stowell called and said she had three girls she knew in Hailey's class too.  Her daughter Ilzay is in a younger grade but is friends with all of those girls.  So, we planned a getting to know you party for the girls.  

We picked them up at 6:30 and before we knew it, it was 10.  We went to the warehouse and played some getting to know you games, rode scooters around the warehouse, played old arcade games, and the game Hedbanz.  It is always so fun to watch girls be girls.  They giggles and had a great time together!

I hope this broke the ice and will help with those first day of school nerves.

Daddy/Grandaddy Daughter Date!

I just found this picture and forgot I never posted this.  Back in June, Hailey had a Father Daughter Date the same day that we had a temple wedding to attend.  My Dad was able to go on a date with her.  It had an Olympic theme and they needed to dress up in matching uniforms.  Luckily we had these from Conrad's team.  Bo coached so we had clothes that fit my dad too.

Hailey had a great day with her Grandpa.  Thank you so much for filling in Dad!  We love you!

A I Want for Christmas are My Four Top Teeth!

Every time jack smiles,  i can't help but laugh a little bit on the inside because he has such a toothless smile.  All four of his front top teeth are gone and he has two on the bottom gone too.  

He loves getting money so much that as soon as he feels that his tooth is loose he gets it out in about a day.  I don't know how he does it.   Sounds painful if you ask me.  It takes awhile for them to come in that way.

He can't wait to get those to teeth back.   It's hard to eat apples and corn on the cob without them:)

Our Trip to the Museum

Conrad had been asking to go to Rigby's, Farnsworth TV and Pioneer Museum for awhile.  I had been debating in my mind of whether or not to go.  It took some courage on my part to take all five kids in there.  I never know if the'll behave.  Really it's just Brayden.  He's at a hard age for anything organized indoors.  Obviously from the picture above.

I decided to bite the bullet and take them.  I chose the wrong time but the museum is only open in the afternoon.  So, we went.  It actually turned out to be a fun experience.  Brayden was a pill but, not bad enough that we had to leave. 

It's actually a really cool museum and a very cheap family outing.  It was only a buck for the three older kids and two dollars for me.  There was a lot of stuff neat stuff in that place.  It had a room for each city in our county plus the Philo T Farnsworth exhibit, the history of Rigby and many more interesting artifacts.  I want to go back and read up so I can take them back and tell them about it.

After that visit Conrad kept asking if there was another museum we could visit.  I told him about the Museum of Idaho in Idaho Falls.  He really wanted to go.  So, I decided we'd go since we are just about back in school again.  We got up made it to the museum early so the kids were fresh.  They were all great and we had a fun really time.  

The exhibit was "Race to Antarctica".  I wasn't sure how we'd all like it, but it was really cool.  They had a cool story to follow and fun things for the kids to interact with. The kids each got a different card with info on a certain person in the race and got to look for certain things in the exhibit as we walked through.  

They really liked those cards.  So much that they grabbed a few more on the way out from the recycle box.  You can see them in the picture below.  They didn't allow any pictures inside the museum so I only got a couple of pictures outside.

They also had a blast playing in the kids room.  It is really fun there.  They have a tee pee, a small cabin, and some caves throughout it.  Pretty cool. 

They will have a new exhibit the end of next month and we will be going to that one.  I'm glad I decided to venture out and that the kids are finally at a point that we can try adventures like these.  It will be something different and fun that we can start doing together as a family.
