Big Island Hawaii

Bo and I tried to go to Hawaii in February, but Covid struck two different times.  We rescheduled from April 28-May 6.  We made it along with 9 others.  I had wanted to go to the big Island since we lived in Hawaii.  I'd always wanted to see a volcano.  The ironic part was that the day we spent at the volcano was probably my least favorite.  :)  But, it was cool to get there.

Big Island was a much bigger island than the other two we've been to.  It had so much lava rock everywhere.  There weren't a lot of sandy beaches but rocky ones.  They were stunning as the waves crashed over them.

We snorkeled, swam, drove, zip-lined, walked, and laughed a lot.  Carley and Myles and a couple from Boise went, but we spent most of our time with Wayne and Leanna, Bonny and Jake, and Gini.  It was a lot of fun, and we made some fun memories.  Like the time Bo got caught behind a tide and didn't want to get his shoes wet.  He "jumped over a delta." We stopped and the worst grocery store over and over again.  We drove a lot and laughed, even more, I think.

Here are some of the highlights:

Hailey's First Prom!

Hailey's cousin Madlyn invited her down to her prom.  We were in Hawaii (I'll post about that soon) so Grandpa drove her down so she could have her special weekend.  We able to go shopping before we left but she ended up stopping in Layton to get a smaller sized dress.  Grandpa had to take her for a COVID test too.  What a nice thing he did for her!

They had so much fun and Abbey (Bryce's Abbey) came up to do the girls hair.  Here are some fun pictures from the night.

Caleb Got Glasses

Caleb hid his eye problems for as long as he could. :) But, he mistakenly told one of the older kids he needed to have his eyes checked.  So I took him in.  He was a -2 in one eye.  That's pretty bad for not having glasses.  Poor kid!  He has loved being able to see.  But he was worried about what people would say when he went to school.

Everyone said he looked like Harry Potter, so he was pretty happy.  He picked those glasses so he would look like him.  He even drew a scar on his forehead for the first couple days :)  What a cute kid!

Jackson and Brayden got contacts last summer.  I think I forgot to post because they didn't look any different!  So, all of us have glasses.  Conrad's a mostly for reading though.
