Christmas Fun 2021

In early December we went to Grandma's house to decorate the tree and make a candy winter wonderland.  Grandpa was missed as this tradition was always the kids helping him decorate the tree. But, it was nice to keep it going even though he's gone for now.

We had some concerts for Jackson and Hailey, a Christmas mutual party at the warehouse that I was in charge of, but couldn't be at because of a concert.  But, Bo helped with that and many other busy activities.  Christmas Eve came so quickly and we had a great day and night.

Christmas jammies

Brayden got the bean in the pie and won a Harry Potter game

Christmas morning was also a lot of fun.  We all really enjoyed breakfast and opening presents.  Mom stayed over and went home early to get ready for my siblings to come.

Then Bo posted this on Facebook

They started showing up on Christmas and some left during the week with Dustin leaving last today.  We had a great time and cousins stayed up way too late.  We had a white elephant gift exchange.  People came up with some pretty great horrible gifts.  We got a lot of laughs with that.

We were all so pooped from the Christmas week we spent that New Year's Eve was kind of a bust.  No pictures, but we ordered Chinese Food and watched way to much TV and played way too many video games.  We are excited to ring in the new year tonight, but a little apprehensive, what will 2022 bring?

Our Trip to NY

We've had a hard year for many reasons, and I'm not going to post all about that.  But, Bo surprised me with a trip to NY a week before we were going.  I knew he was thinking about planning a trip but had no idea he was going to plan one that quickly and soon. It couldn't have been a better surprise.

We only planned one thing and that was to go to The Lion King.  It was very cool and I really enjoyed it.  Bo did too, even though I'm not sure he'd like me to tell everyone.  HAHA.  The rest of the trip was just as great.  We just wandered to new places, rested in our room when we got tired, and just enjoyed spending time together.  We rode bikes around the whole outer road of Central Park.  We ate amazing Pastrami, and went to Top of the Rock. On our last day, we rode the subway to Harlem and visited some friends.  It was fun to see a new part of NY we hadn't been to.  Thank you, Bo!!! This was just what we needed.  Thanks for planning it and taking such great care of me. :) You're the best!

We didn't take many pictures because we just wanted to enjoy the moment.  But, here are a few we took.

Thanksgiving 2021

Thanksgiving was at our house this year.  I think we've been home now for three years.  I love having it at home with a small group.  It allows for a new tradition of going around the table and saying five things we're grateful for.  Yesterday was just as great, but we sure missed Dad.  I still can't believe he's gone.  But, I was reminded of his great example of how to help out on Thanksgiving.  He was always helping where he could.

The kids missed having cousins and I did miss having more family around.  It felt so small, but we still had a great day and a yummy feast! Hailey took these pics of our dinner.

A Park City Gettaway

Before I write about the getaway, I had to post these two funny pictures.  The boys were up with their families for Fall Break.  The boys were going through Dad's coveralls and took a pic.  Then we girls went to IF to go shopping.  While we were shopping, we found jumpsuits that looked almost the same as dad's coveralls.  They are right in style!!!  HAHA!!  We had to get dressed in them and get a pic to send to the boys.

A few weeks later, we met up at a sweet 4 bedroom timeshare in Park City for a few days.  We shopped until we dropped, ate fantastic food at Cheesecake Factory, ate more dessert cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, and spent way too much time finding these comfy jammies!  It was so lovely to get away for a few days.  I was so tired, though, that I went and stayed at Mom's house for one more night.  Thanks, ladies, for making life so much fun!

Family is the best!
